Making Your Home Smell fresh Before Showing it to Buyers

A well-presented house should appeal greatly to one’s sense of smell. So it is important that you keep your house completely free of odors and make the atmosphere a very pleasant one to be in. here are a few suggestions to help make your house a welcoming one.

Scented candles make for great decorative items as well as permeate the entire surrounding space with their enticing smell. Place a couple of such candles in each room and see the effect it has in the air there! Also, these candles are available in varied sizes and are cheap too. Buy colorful ones which capture the eye.

Baking soda and corn starch never fail to delight. You can place a little of either of these in the smelliest of garbage cans and be rest assured that they’ll absorb the odor well enough. Also, they are cheap and natural products and do not have an excessively strong smell like those of synthetic fragrances. So placing a handful of these at the bottom of dustbins, near window sills, at the base of the laundry bag, over carpets and in shoes can work wonders to drive out foul smells!

Using ceiling fans to circulate the air in a room prevents it from becoming stuffy and humid. Try to keep your windows and ventilators open at all times to let plenty of fresh air in. Also, have at least one plant in the house- it is a constant supply of purified air in your house. Though this may seem simple and clichéd, it is actually a very practical and economical way of keeping your house and yourself healthy always. Remember to change the air filters in your heating and cooling systems at least once or twice a year because they tend to get very dirty during autumn and spring. Dust your carpet everyday and be careful to not hang sweaty clothes around when the buyer comes to visit you!

Finally to add a personal touch to your hospitality, have something like hot, newly-baked cookies when the buyers come over. Even fresh popcorn or steaming hot chocolate can set the right tone for a successful viewing!
